The trailblazing Succession series from HBO coined many terms and hashtags, chief amongst them #quietluxury. The reality is though that for those with an eye - these carefully curated scenes, rich with tones and textures and shades of muted neutrals were anything but quiet. Sometimes as I watched the seasons over and over I would pause and mute the unnecessary dialogue just to "hear" the interiors better.
A little obsessive - perhaps, but I am not alone in crawling closer to the screen to study and examine every cushion cover, table lamp and coffee table that the box sets and viral shows throw our way. The fabulous and talented Cheryl Eisen was hired to generate some of these incredible spaces and she talks about some of her experience working with the rich and famous as well as styling tips and tricks in an exclusive interview with realtor.com

Logan Roy's townhouse, with this incredible study/TV den. All the upholstered neutrals from every age come together in this room. Mixing muted, mirrored, tapestry, lacquered, crystal and gilt in the palest cream to deepest bronze and flooded with the brightest and best New York city big window light. Heaven. When the sun goes down, all the table lights come on and give the softest and prettiest glow to accompany cocktail hour.

If you love the look of these crystal lamps with rectangular cream shades flanking the gorgeous high gloss sideboard, take a look at the Amaris Nickel & Crystal Table Lamps, minimal yet making such an elegant statement.

White on cream with blue and navy, accessorised with brass and bronze. Obviously this is Logan's Hamptons house. All the visual cues that let the sea air in.

A trick that the Succession set designers often used was to dual purpose studies and living spaces, sofas and armchairs, coffee tables and tall lamps and then into this space drop a dead gorgeous desk.

George DeTitta discussed some of the finer points of the set design with SetDecor. Read more about their clever ideas, the team, the challenges and the motivation.
Love the Hamptons look? Look for leathers and interesting finish combinations, textures and fabrics. This Giobagnara Defile tray is a great start. Elegant and lovely, hand stitched boar leather in the prettiest storm grey/blue with brass hardware.

One of my favourite lamps, the deep blue straw marquetry, with such a playful cloud design. Combine with a shade of elegant linen, this one in a soft cream has a warm tone, combined with the gold coloured brass it creates a stunning effect when lit.

Trays, boxes, baskets and bins - these are standard in any well designed home. The style and finish can vary tremendously but having containers with beautiful finishes to hold the bits and pieces we need to get on with our lives is key.

Waste bins - they only hold paper, tissues and old post it notes, but every well-turned out office deserves a great bin to throw out those failed business plans in style. So go to town on it, a finish in shell, shagreen, leather, lacquer or wood. Tapered, oval and circular there are as many styles as you can imagine.

What was it that kept me hooked on all the Succession episodes? The attention to detail, such finesse, nothing spared. The characters were A+ but so too were the sets, interiors, yachts! Who remembers that incredible episode? And whilst we gasp and judge and laugh at the complexity of the Roy family, their wealth, their troubles, the ironic humour to the dark side of their business, we still keep a keen eye on the cashmere upholstery and the fine linen drapes.
